888stars download: the only right source
The 888starz app is distributed by the operator itself: for Android as an apk file from the Mobile App page on its mobile site, for iPhone via a link to the iOS version in the same place. That is the only source where the file is guaranteed to be genuine. The app is not on Google Play — the store restricts bookmakers, so the Android version is installed manually.
Everything offered as ‘888 stars download’ in Telegram channels, apk catalogues and ‘mod’ sites is a third-party build: outdated at best, intercepting logins and SMS codes at worst. Updates: how to know it is time and how to update
The app checks its version itself and, when a new one is out, shows a notification with a link to the fresh apk. Install it over the old one — nothing needs uninstalling, your login data stays. If you put the update off for long, the old version at some point stops connecting to the server: a sign it is time to update, not a fault. On iPhone updates arrive through the App Store if the app was installed from there; the web version updates itself every time it opens.
Storage, notifications, battery and uninstalling
The app itself is small, but the cache grows — especially from live streams and game images. Clearing the cache in Android settings (Apps → 888starz → Storage → Clear cache) frees space and does not affect the account. Notifications are configured inside the app: you can keep only bet settlement and updates and switch off promotional ones. The app uses battery mainly in live — the rest of the time it can safely sit in the background.
